How Voting Works

Understanding voting, ScorePoints, and game modes

Last updated: October 20, 2018

ScorePlay is a football knowledge competition where you vote on match outcomes and earn ScorePoints based on accuracy and consistency.

Game Modes

ScorePlay has two game modes:

Free Mode

  • Available to everyone worldwide (except sanctioned countries)
  • Vote on matches without any money or cryptocurrency
  • Earn ScorePoints from predictions (entry + correct settlements)
  • Compete on leaderboards

USDC Mode

  • Only available in some countries
  • Requires wallet connection and USDC
  • Same outcomes to predict; adds optional USDC stakes and SP from position rules where implemented (Points and leaderboard)
  • Compete on leaderboards (rank by total SP)

Both modes share the same prediction mechanics; USDC Mode adds on-chain participation and the SP lines above where available.

How Voting Works

  1. Browse matches - Visit /compete to see upcoming football matches
  2. Select an outcome - Choose which team will win, or if the match will be a draw
  3. Submit your vote - Your vote is recorded; SP is credited per product rules (entry and settlement)
  4. Earn points - Correct settlements earn the largest SP bonuses; see Points and leaderboard

Two Ways to Vote

1. Quick Votes on /compete

The main play page shows a grid of upcoming matches. You can:

  • See match probabilities at a glance
  • Place quick votes directly from the list
  • Filter by competition, date, and search

This is ideal for making multiple votes quickly.

2. Full Detail View on /events/[id]

Click any match to open the full event page where you can:

  • View detailed match information (teams, date, competition)
  • See AI predictions, head-to-head stats, and standings
  • Analyze probabilities across different blockchain networks
  • Place votes with full position preview
  • View your existing votes and performance

This is ideal for analyzing a match in depth before voting.

Understanding Probabilities

Probabilities represent the likelihood of an outcome:

  • Higher probability = More likely to happen
  • Lower probability = Less likely to happen, but higher reward if correct

The app shows probabilities as percentages (e.g., 45%, 30%, 25%).
